FootHill VET CLINIC

Cat & Dog Surgery

When your cat or dog needs surgery, it’s natural to be a little nervous about their procedure, even if it is routine. At Foothill Vet Clinic, we understand just how important your pet is to you and your family, which is why we take extra care to ensure your pet has a smooth procedure and a quick recovery.

Focusing on Safety First
Before every procedure, we’ll perform a pre-anesthetic exam and recommend pre-anesthetic bloodwork to check the health of your pet’s kidneys and liver, which play a role in metabolizing the anesthesia. This pre-operative exam also allows us to form exact anesthesia and pain management protocols based on your pet’s weight, age, and health.
Our safety protocols also include:
• An IV catheter for many patients that provides them with fluids that help to hydrate and regulate their blood pressure
• Extensive monitoring by a trained veterinary technician/assistant who watches over your pet’s vitals including heart rate and rhythm, respiration rate, blood-oxygen levels, body temperature, and more
• Pain management before, during, and after the procedure to ensure your pet wakes with minimal discomfort
